Jushi Gitau is an economist and public finance specialist with more than seven years of experience supporting the costing, budgeting, and financing of child protection systems and social services. His work focuses on strengthening how child protection policies and systems are financed, linking policy intent with the economic analysis and advocacy needed to mobilize resources and improve equitable service delivery.
Jushi’s technical expertise includes costing of child protection policies, systems, and services; public expenditure analysis; and investment case development for social service workforce strengthening and care reform initiatives. He has supported governments and UNICEF country and regional offices to develop costed strategies, analyze fiscal flows, and design practical budgeting and expenditure tracking tools. His work also includes research, curriculum development, and the design and facilitation of Public Financial Management training to strengthen national and sub-national capacity. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham, and is based in Kenya
