Matthew Dalling

Senior Associate

Matthew has over 20 years of experience working and living in Southern and Eastern Africa, Eastern Europe, West Africa, South East Asia and the middle East.  His work focuses on child protection in humanitarian and development contexts with specific experience in child protection (CP) in emergencies, CP systems building, workforce strengthening, alternative care, civil registration, case management and Children and Armed Conflict.   He was previously the Chief of Child Protection for UNICEF State of Palestine (2015 – 2021), as well as for UNICEF Sierra Leone (2012-2015) during the Ebola crisis. In East and Southern Africa he has seven years of direct experience with UNICEF Swaziland (2004-2006) and in Namibia (2006-2013) working specifically in child protection systems and systems strengthening with a focus on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support.  He is a professional Social Worker with a MSc in Development Management and has extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of children’s rights.
