Vera Schroepel is a Child Protection & Emergencies Specialist with over a decade of experience in humanitarian and development contexts across Ukraine, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Colombia, and Lebanon, as well as at UNICEF and GIZ Headquarters. She holds a master’s degree in International Peace & Security from King’s College London and a BA in International Relations from the University of Birmingham. Vera has led large-scale programmes focused on child protection, gender-based violence, and human rights in settings of displacement and migration. She has collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, UN agencies, and NGOs. Her expertise spans emergency response in complex conflict and disaster contexts, cross-sectoral coordination and inter-agency collaboration, as well as policy development and strategic program management. Guided by a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, Vera’s work promotes the rights of children on the move, intersectional gender equality, and the empowerment of marginalized communities.
