Wilton Park Dialogue on Care Reform

Maestral is a partner in the Global Campaign for Children’s Care Reform, alongside the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), UNICEF and Better Care Network. We have been proud to support the planning of an international dialogue on care reform, hosted by Wilton Park and FCDO in Sussex, UK. The dialogue, which took place from 28-30 January, brought together representatives from 16 countries who are amongst the first signatories to the Global Charter on Children’s Care Reform, along with representatives from civil society including those with lived experience of alternative care. The aim of the dialogue was to accelerate progress in care reform following the launch of the Charter in 2025 through sharing examples from diverse countries and discussing how the Campaign can build on the progress already made and build greater momentum through collaborative actions. The open, challenging and encouraging conversations will be captured in a forthcoming report on the event. Whilst the suggestions to inform a roadmap for the Campaign will be opened for wider consultation.
