The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has led to the displacement of millions and the fragmentation of numerous families, leaving many in a state of despair and hardship. In the face of this crisis, social services are a crucial pillar of support and become a beacon of hope. Maestral is supporting the development of Resilience Centers+ — essential one-stop-shops providing critical social services.
The Centres provide a safe space, with qualified professionals, where clients can access a range of services to enhance individual, family, and community resilience; critical in the face of the protracted conflict. Services include mental health and psychosocial support, domestic violence response, crisis intervention, positive parenting, early childhood intervention, and day care. The package of services is designed to cultivate resilience, promoting unity and fortitude amidst adversity. Center staff also provide linkages and referrals to health, education, and legal services. The Resilience Centers+ serve as vital lifelines for those who are most profoundly impacted by the war.
Many Resilience Centers+ have already been established and are operational, despite the challenging context. Grounded in robust service standards and training curricula developed by Maestral, these Resilience Centers+ are equipped to fulfill their mission by providing essential support to the most vulnerable, bolstering individual, family, and community resilience during these tumultuous times.
