Maestral International is recruiting a Juvenile Diversion Consultant to work closely with UNICEF Ukraine’s justice for children team. The consultant will play a central technical and strategic advisory role in supporting the design and eventual scale-up of juvenile diversion programmes in Ukraine. This will include mapping stakeholders and legal frameworks, analysing existing national and international practices, and developing tools to guide decision-making and programme design. This is a remote, part-time consultancy (approx. 15 days/month) for an initial 3-month period, with the possibility of extension.
Ideal candidates will have deep expertise in juvenile justice / justice for children, justice reform or similar technical areas especially in the Ukrainian context. Strong knowledge of diversion programmes, alternatives to detention, restorative justice and international juvenile justice standards (e.g. Beijing Rules) and knowledge of Ukraine’s justice system required.
